Wollongong City Council has gone on the front foot over Asbestos, and what it’s doing about it’s presence.
Council advises that places like the Helensburgh Mountain Bike Park, Beaton Park tennis courts and the Old Wollongong Courthouse, all have a degree of Asbestos.
While Asbestos is a challenge for everyone, it’s working to manage the legacy of a building material, that remains a presence in buildings and in construction waste, Council says.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery, said the budgetary impact of unexpected finds on worksites should not be underestimated.
