The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a weather warning for the Illawarra and South Coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology advises a complex low pressure system currently lies to the east of
Tasmania.
This low is forecast to track towards the Bass Strait during the day today, with a series of associated troughs crossing NSW, resulting in strengthening westerly winds.

Damaging winds averaging 60 to 70 km/h are possible for the Illawarra from tonight in the south, spreading through to the Illawarra Tuesday morning.
Winds are forecast to ease later Tuesday morning.
