Stuart Park and the North Wollongong foreshore are among the most visited places in the Illawarra.
This prime visitor location is also one that sees a mix of cars, bikes, scooters, pedestrians and more on a daily basis.
To improve safety for all road users, a reduced speed limit has been rolled out on Cliff Road in Stuart Park.
Following a speed limit review initiated by Wollongong City Council, the speed limit along Cliff Road from Stuart Park to George Hanley Drive has had its speed reduced from 40 km/h to 20 km/h.
The existing speed limit has been reviewed in consultation with Wollongong City Council and NSW Police and is in accordance with the NSW Speed Zoning Standard.
The review is based on a proposal by Wollongong City Council, which includes upgrades and changes to the local Wollongong Foreshore Area and the addition of an all-abilities playground installed in late-2023.
