Police are appealing for information following a suspicious car fire in the Illawarra.
In June 2024, Strike Force Clept was established to investigate the car fire.
About 11.50pm, on (Wednesday 12 June 2024), emergency services were called to a house on Thomas Street, Lake Illawarra following reports of a car fire.
Fire and Rescue were called and extinguished the fire. The Ford Focus was extensively damaged.
The pair fled from the scene in a car.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police Station responded and established a crime scene.
As inquiries continue, police are releasing CCTV images of two men who can assist with their inquiries.
The first male is described as 170cm, medium build, wearing a black ‘Geedup’ branded jumper, black pants and black shoes.
The second male is described as 170cm, medium build, wearing black pants and a black jumper with a motif on the upper arm sleeve.
