The federal government is taking steps to deal with the cost of living crisis, with a raft of changes coming in as of today 1 July 2024.
A $300 energy bill rebate will kick in today, it will be paid in quarterly instalments of $75; the Fair Work Ombudsman advises that the National Minimum Wage increases to $915.90 per week or $24.10 per hour, while award minimum wages increase by 3.75%.
There’ll also be a freeze on the cost of PBS medicines, and two weeks more paid parental leave.

Stage three tax cuts also come into effect as of today as well.
