Kiama Council is investigating the illegal dumping, of asbestos and other building material, next to the Princes Highway near the Minnamurra Bridge.
Council advises that the asbestos and other material, has been dumped in a cutting on the northbound side of the road, out of sight of passing traffic.
Compliance officers have cordoned off the dump and watered down the asbestos, until it can be removed by licenced contractors.
