Wollongong nurses and midwives stop work for four hours

Ramsay Health Care nurses and midwives from Wollongong will walk off the job for four hours today.

Members of the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association, have marched from Wollongong Private Hospital to Beatson Park, where they’ll hold a community rally, to highlight what they call Ramsay’s unacceptable pay and conditions offer.

Workers will also be demanding, that Ramsay commits to safe staffing ratios, for all wards and units in their NSW hospitals.

The action comes as they ramp up historic industrial action against the country’s largest private hospital operator.
